Human Rights Artivism

The Human Rights Artivism Art Exhibition took place from March 7 to 13, 2022 at Akatlar Cultural Centre, marking a significant moment as the first public event organized by our collective and beginning of our Artivism series, which was then known as V for Woman. The exhibition featured 17 artists whose works explored urgent themes related to human rights, including freedom of expression, gender equality, systemic injustice, and personal identity. Through paintings, photography, mixed media, and installations, the exhibition invited viewers to confront the lived realities behind policy and ideology.

Art was not just a medium but a method of inquiry and resistance. Each piece served as both a mirror and a provocation, reflecting the state of society while pushing the boundaries of public discourse. Visitors were encouraged to question, feel, and engage. The exhibition’s layout was designed to foster connection and conversation, transforming the cultural venue into a shared space for critical empathy and collective reflection.

More than 1,000 people visited throughout the week, a testament to the urgency of the themes and the power of accessible, community-rooted art. This event became the catalyst for what would later grow into V FOR HUMAN, shaping our ongoing mission to unite creativity and advocacy in pursuit of human dignity and social change.
